What is stand alone dvr?
Stand alone dvr is a digital video recorder device that records the surveillance video from your security camera. Unlike the PC Base DVR which runs on an Operating System such as Window or Linux System, the Stand alone dvr runs on its own embedded software. Stand alone DVR are getting more popular to the surveillance industry because of its sleek design, space saver, reliable and cost efficient.

The Stand alone dvr has all the neccessary features and more to get surveillance recording. The only big drawback with using stand alone dvr is with future upgrade such as software or equipments, one might be limited to do such. Unlike the PC base DVR you can always replace your old video capture card, or do future software upgrades.
